Today was the day for my baby girl to head off to preschool. The alarm was ringing by 6:45, so I could get up and be ready when the kids woke up to get them ready to get Mykala to school on time!! I got up and got in the shower and while I was in there Mykala was up and excited about what the day held for her. As I was getting out I hear Landon waking up as well!! We finally got up and ready, ate breakfast and even got out the door on time!! As we approach the school, I took a moment to explain to Mykala that I was going to walk her in and stay a couple of minutes and then leave her with her new teacher. She said ok, like it was no big deal and we had done this many times before. So we got in the classroom and hung up Mykala's coat and bag and played with a couple of toys. Landon was getting into more then Mykala was. The teacher called attention to every one to tell the parents good bye! So it was time. I gave Mykala a hug and a kiss good-bye and told her I would be back in a couple of hours, I know at this point my eyes were wedling with tears, but no tears fell. She said ok and see you later, so Landon and I left.
As I got back in the car and started driving away, it was SO queit! Did I have my kids with me? What is going on back there that there is no noise? I had to pull the car over to check back there, but then I remembered that my talker was not with us in the car, it was Landon and I! So the ride across town was VERY quiet. We came home and played boy games, just Landon and I. We played baseball, catch, and Legos! It was great having one-on-one time with just him.
It was time to pick her up, so we got in the car and headed to school. When I got there I waited outside for her. As she came out of the building she ran to me and said, "Mommy, I did not cry!!" She told me about the many things she did at her first day of school, read stories, played games, sang songs and talked about the rules of the classroom!! She had a great time and is excited to go back on Thursday.
As for Landon and I we did pretty good. I teared up in the car after I got in, but hey a mother has that right!! Landon kept looking around the house for kala!! He was confused for a bit but loved playing with his Mommy.
