Peace
Well, on Monday morning we had a bad thunderstorm. The winds reached speeds of 75 and tore through the area. I woke up at about 12:30am to a hollowing wind and things hitting our house. Went downstairs to see what was going on and found out that we were in a bad storm. I decided to get Dave up to see what he thought the best plan of action would be to take for us and the kids. We decided that if the winds got any worse we would wake the kids and take them to the basement. As we were waiting and watching the winds stayed the same and trees started to fall. Finally it died down, but during all that was going on the power went out at about 1:00am. We set our cell phone alarms and crawled into bed. In the morning Dave woke up and got ready for bed and then I did the same. No big deal! well it was not until the kids woke up that I noticed how much I rely on electricity. I could not dry my hair, make our usually oatmeal or toast, no music for the kids to listen to. So we were creative in what we did. We got a book and acted it out instead of just reading it. It was fun. At the same time it was QUIET!! The whole block was quiet, the whole town was quiet. It was like on the movies after a storm. It was interesting, but we lived through it. We are still picking up all the sticks and branches in our yard.
